Black Sheep Gathering

Watch out, I'm posting again! So last weekend was Black Sheep Gathering in Eugene. e spent the night at Oma's house Friday so o and I could get up early Saturday morning. We hopped a ride with Deb and arrived less than two hours later. o did great with both drives by the way! He was quite the hit, I've never had so many people stop me to see who was in the moby.

I wasn't planning on buying anything, for a few reasons, but then I gave myself permission to find one special thing. After walking through the booths a few times I kept going back to the same three skeins at Blue Moon Fiber Arts. I told myself if they were skill there when we walked to the car I'd get them. Sadly for my wallet, they were there!

Two of the skeins that are the same are rare gems and I love them. The other one is a mill end, I think it's supposed to be Bella Coola maybe. It looked nice and manly to me. So I've been trolling Ravelry trying to find the perfect pattern but nothing is sticking out to me. Any ideas? Maybe a baby sweater? They're medium weight by the way, so sportish. I don't feel like that's what I should be knitting right now. I should be making samples out of my own yarn, but how long have I been saying that?!

Speaking of things I shouldn't be working on. I've been cleaning out my junk in the garage and found a pattern for a teddy bear. Have you heard of the Mother Bear Project? Well I got a pattern from them a few years ago now and I was itching to start something new. Nothing like ignoring the two projects going on in my bag right now! I highly recommend making one. I'm on the pants right now.

The pattern is super easy, in fact I think it would be a great way to teach some one how to knit. Anyways, I hope I can make a few of these since I have giant skeins to use up. It's an easy knit to squeeze in a few stitches here and there. Which is the time I have!

Next time: Tour de Fleece (this website is not updated, but you get the idea) and Chrissy Gardiner's new project
It helps me to have a next time line. I know where I was going when I get back here!
