Contest Time!!

Hello, and welcome back to our regularly scheduled programing! Thank you for being so patient about this contest tease! Up for random a drawing is a set of Roy G Biv in pastel, 25g of 7 different colors.
I'm going to draw a name next Monday (5/10), just leave a comment telling me what your idea is to do with the yarn! Pretty easy. One idea might be knitted toys. I saw some at Wool N' Wares out in West Linn out of Rose City and it was so cute! Then Vicki (one of the new owners!) suggested using a brown and orange yarn I'd dyed to make a tiger. Too cute! If only there were a few more hours in the day.

There's has been some knitting around here though. I have no pictures, but I'll snap some for next time. I am happy to report that our house has been pretty healthy this last week and a half (everybody please knock on some wood!). Even my back is starting to feel okay. As long as I don't dye for 8 hours. Which is a bit of a bummer to be honest. The studio is one of my favorite places to be!

I'm going to run away and sit on the couch and knit. I gotta make the best of a toddler nap while I can. Please leave a comment to win some yarn, I'd love to hear all the wild ideas and maybe make something myself!

  3. I know EXACTLY what I would do....our 7 yo dd is learning to crochet from my grandma (her great grandma). Annaliese is quite the little entreprenuer. She plans on making some items and selling them at market this summer. Yarn absolutely excites her!!!!

  4. I think it would be really cute to use a color or two in a baby hat or sweater. Although, you know that's what I have on the brain! I was thinking one of the hats from Itty Bitty Hats would be super cute

  5. I hope the baby prep is going well... :)

As for the yarn, I think it would make for a beautiful springy fair isle pillow cover!

  6. I think this would be a good set for making a hat for a kid, or maybe some striped mittens.

  7. Lj- I love all the colors of your yarn! I keep meaning to tell you how impressed I am with what you are doing. :) I'd probably give the yarn away as a gift (I know lots of people who love to knit, and sadly, I do not) or maybe request someone make me/the boys a beanie. With a bill. I love those.

  8. I think I would knit the cupcake mittens by spilly jane on Rav. Those are so stinking cute! And the colors in this would be perfect for all the icing! :)

  10. i think i would make a very similar baby blanket that a few people are knitting on currently. but this one would be for my dear friend who is due in a few months. unless i randomly get pregnant or something then i'd keep it for me. lol

  17. I would probably make a fair-isle (or slip stitch mock fair-isle) blanket or cushion cover to brighten up my sitting room.
But I might make some stripey socks for my husbands large and chronically cold feet.

  18. I'm thinking a striped snake, or maybe some doll clothes, or maybe a mobile with birds?

  19. Hmmm. The first the that springs to mind is a stripy toddler tunic to wear over a long sleeved shirt and jeans or something. And depending on what's left over, maybe some stripy fingerless mitts for me, and a hat if it went that far!! Though socks also sound very tempting...

  20. I'm thinking that I would make some sort of knit toy for my niece or some other little one. There is this really cute elephant out there that I know I have in my favorites, just waiting.
