Yep! Just as the title suggests I'm gonna tell you about a couple of projects I'm working on. First up is Summer Wind. I love this pattern, it's a breeze! Ahahahaha, I couldn't resist! Carrie did a great job of writing a pattern that's perfect to work on with all the out door fun. And the finished knit is great too, I've seen a few in the wild. I'll have the pattern available at OFFF.
I'm using Bling in Cedar, there are a few skeins in the shop now, more to come in a few weeks. The handy little bag is from Katie. I love her bags! I snagged a few at Sock Summit and put them right to work. I just saw another one in the shop I super love!
My next project is near and dear to my heart. An amazing friend is battling cancer right now and I don't know what else to do but knit. I'm making this blanket, hoping it will be of comfort to her and her family. She has three beautiful children that love her to pieces. I'm close to the end, I have a repeat and a half to go before bind off. I'm hoping to be done by next Wednesday! I'm using malabrigo worsted, but I can't remember the color. The bag with the calacas on it is from Slipped Stitch Studios. Also, picked up at Sock Summit. I'm a huge fan of Laura and covet a lot from her shop!
The malabrigo was a prize I won from Melanie for donating to a fundraiser. The yarn is not working with my wool allergy so I'm going to have three skeins left over that need a new home. How about you leave me a comment telling me about your WIP's and you'll be entered in the drawing for three skeins!* I'll announce the winner next WIP Wednesday.
*Assuming I don't have to use anymore yarn to finish the blanket : )
Hm, works in progress...
ReplyDeleteThere's a fair isle beanie (making good progress until I ran out of the main color while on the bus, and I haven't dug out the second skein yet). There's a shawl (using your huckleberry bling). There's a short-sleeved top in light fingering weight that I need to pay attention to figure out what I'm doing next. There's a dress. (Really.) There's a sleeved wrap. There's a RUG. (That one's getting frogged.) There's a blanket that was supposed to be a big-brother present for a little friend of mine whose baby brother is now 10 months old. There's the blanket that was supposed to be for said baby brother.
That enough? ;-)
Currently I have way too many WIPs than I usually have going. Two pairs of socks, both working on the second sock. One is a Mystery KAL, and I've never done one before and am enjoying the process (I'll have the 2nd one ready for the 3rd clue along with the 1st). I also have a Shetland shawl started and a languishing blanket for a nephew (not needed until Christmas thankfully!). I'll also start a Barn Raising Quilt block this afternoon in case the socks don't work out as projects to work on at knit night tonight. ;-) (It will be block #24 of handspun blocks for a blanket that is also technically a WIP.) Whew!
ReplyDeleteWorking on Elizabeth for myself, fascinated by the unusual construction, cuff to cuff. Using Malabrigo Twist, what a pleasure to work with. Also trying to finish a Kauni colorwork sweater for hubby. It's been on the needles for two or three years now. Have promised myself I won't start anything new until these two are done.
ReplyDeleteI am finishing up a baby hat for a friends' expected- and working on some super sekrit knitting that I'm very excited about. :)
ReplyDeleteLeigh Radford's awesome ruffle tank, this time in red. New socks with your CSY huckleberry bling (so pretty!). And may cast on Annis, also in red. Lots more ideas cooking in my head!
ReplyDeleteI'm working on a Lace Cardi, from Fiber Trends. I have 2 pattern repeats left on the sleeves, then I can block it and sew up the side seams! I have other things too, but not working on them right now. I'll get back to them after this is finished. :)
ReplyDeleteI wish I was working on the Ogee shawl I picked up at Sock Summit, but I still haven't found which box it is in from moving this weekend before I can get back to it... so much for "keeping it safe"
ReplyDeleteI am working on my Marrowstone shawlette and am dreading frogging out a pair of toe-up lace socks. I discovered that I can't stand toe up short row heels. Next up is a poncho. In my head it's practically all cast on already.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful color. I just bought my first skein of Malabrigo Lace. Now to find a project!
