Do you go to knit night? I go to one of the most amazing knit night groups. I love all the women that go. I feel like one of the luckiest knitters. When I bring the boys (happens more than I like) every one is very patient of the tiny fingers and busy bodies. The group is adventurous and willing to take on projects, they've knit three baby blankets for babies in our group!
I've learned so much from all the women. Parenting, being a good spouse, a friend, how to be generous, kind, so many things. All the women are very creative as well. I can't count the ideas and inspiration that have come from a night together.
Debbi has designed a new shawl dedicated to her knit night people. Knit Night is a beautiful shawl with lots of texture. She used Bling and it's a great combination if I do say so myself! We're having a little contest between us. Leave a comment on my blog or hers about your knit night. Share your favorite memories, stories, projects and we'll choose our favorite. First prize is a skein of Bling and a copy of Knit Night. Runner up receives a copy of Knit Night. Comments close Sunday at midnight pacific time, winners announce on Monday!
I love our knit nite group! I'm so glad I know you; you are one of the most together people I know. And it's been very fun watching your boys grow...let's get together for Brio trains again soon! (More blocking?)
ReplyDeleteI happen to be one of the lucky knit night ladies with the lovely Debbi!!! She has taught me so much since I started coming to knit night a year ago. She even taught me how to cable without a cable needle and I didn't use one once while knitting Patricia!! We have shared laughs and swapped stories and I have learned some much from this group about life, love and fiber and I have never known a better group of ladies to inspire me to do my knitted best!! Thank You Debbi, Thank You Knit Night!! Love that Bling!!

My knit night is Wednesday at the Whole Foods in the Tanasbourne area. I met the ladies at a Yarn Harlot book signing and haven't looked back. Its where we come to show off WIPs and FOs. We do charity knitting - preemie caps and homeless kids. They also help me with the goodie bags for WWKiP and WWSiP events. We fluctuate in size each week but there's usually no fewer than six that show up and have gone over twenty. We love adding in new people too and whenever a shopper shows interest we invite them over to ask questions. A fun bunch of ladies of all ages!
ReplyDeleteI sometimes feel I need to find a group to knit with. I find myself getting shy and have yet to go to one. Maybe someday...
ReplyDeleteYay! I can't wait to make this.
ReplyDeleteFriends, food, wine & yarn - what more could I ask for? I love knit night!
ReplyDeleteI see my name shows up as Jerry....I'm actually Cathy!
My Knit Nite group is awesome and inspiring, I recommend communal knitting to all.
ReplyDeleteI knit weekly with a group at the library. we've taught people to knit, but mostly just help each other... and we found as we got more comfy talking about knitting, we also turned to each other with our daily lives and now it's much more than a knitting group, it's a place where friends get together and just happen to knit while we chat :) :) :)
ReplyDeleteI love our Knit Night group! The food is as good as the knitting. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are fortunate to have such a terrific circle of knitting friends. I work evenings, so such a group is not an option, but I do count on the afternoon regulars to come to the shop where i work on Fridays. Everything is better when they arrive!
ReplyDeleteI have yet to make a knit night, My husband gets home too late for me to make it. My kids are still too young for me to go. I do run a prayer shawl ministry at my church and I need to get the pattern for the shawl above, it is beautiful and would bless someone!! Thanks for having this here, I am trying to use the web to expand my knitting skills!!
